Alberta licensing essentials

In Alberta, companies providing condominium management services must be licensed by the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) as a brokerage in the Condominium Management sector under the Real Estate Act. The brokerage must have a designated managing broker who holds their own licence. Individual condominium managers working for the brokerage must also be licensed.

Unlike Ontario and BC, RECA does not publish licence numbers on ProCheck — the brokerage name and managing broker are the key identifiers. RECA publishes disciplinary decisions on its website. Always verify the brokerage is currently authorized before signing a management agreement.
